Walk supports bereaved parents on Saturday in Carrie Blake Park

Community members rally this weekend to support bereaved parents through the Washington Olympic Peninsula Rock &Walk from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in Carrie Blake Park in Sequim.

The event is offered through The Tears Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that assists bereaved parents with the financial and emotional burdens they face for their babies that have died.

Organizers say the heart of the event is to let families know they are not alone by walking with them. Participants are encouraged to form teams, which can be formed at www.crowdrise.com/washingtonrockwalk-peninsula.

Rev. Julia McKenna-Blessing of Sequim will serve as a guest speaker for the event. For more information, call 360-461-5875 or email WAPeninsulaWalk@thetearsfoundation.org.
