‘Wild’ wine label features local photographer’s sea scene

One of Wind Rose Cellars’ newest wines, the 2017 Wild Coast White features one wild scene from the Olympic Peninsula.

Wild Coast White is a limited-production (732 bottles) product with a portion of proceeds going to the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary Foundation.

The label features a photo taken by photographer Jay Cline, a former Sequim Gazette employee, who captured the moment as waves crashed against a sea stack in La Push in January.

With logs coming on shore, local law enforcement told Cline and other coast visitors to leave the area.

“The wind was so strong (that day), it was hard to get the door open,” Cline recalled on Aug. 4, as Wind Rose Cellars owners David Volmut and Jennifer States joined Cline and Deborah Moriarty, Chapter Coordinator for the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, to introduce the new wine.
