Helen M. Rotter A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. June 22, 2009, at Crossroads Church, 7555 Old Military Road N.E., Bremerton for former Sequim resident Helen M. Rotter Mrs. Rotter died June 7 at the age of 83. She was born Sept. 4, 1925, to Jefferson and Leslie Robbin Denniston in Todd County, Long Prairie, Minn. A full obituary will appear in next week’s issue of the Sequim Gazette.
Helen Ruth Dietrich
A memorial service for Sequim resident Helen Ruth Dietrich will be held at
3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at
the Sequim home of Brad and Susie Busher.
Mrs. Dietrich died May 31, 2009, at the age of 87.
She was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Mena Ark., to James and Cora Sutton Vincent.
She married Charles Dietrich on Aug. 4, 1946, in Los Angeles, Calif.
She worked for McDonnell Douglas in the 1940s and Sears, Roebuck & Co. from the 1950s-1990.
She is survived by her son Paul Dietrich of Yakima; daughter and son-in-law Brad and Susie Buchser of Sequim; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Patty Vincent of Santa Paula; five grandchildren; and four nieces.
Virginia Frantz
A celebration of life for former Sequim resident Virginia Frantz will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at Carrie Blake Park in Sequim.
She died in Lynden on March 4, 2009, at the age of 69, after a long illness.
She was born June 15, 1939, in Port Angeles to
John and Ruth Frantz.
She has two sisters, Marolyn Maulin of Hoodsport and Doris Stuart of Everett.
She graduated from
Sequim High School in 1958.
She worked as a cook at Crestwood Nursing Home and Sequim Health Care for many years.
Robert Alvin
'Bob' Dalke
A service for former
Sequim resident Robert Alvin "Bob" Dalke will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Whidbey Presbyterian Church in Oak Harbor.
Mr. Dalke died June 4, 2009, at the age of 92.
He was born Feb. 8, 1917, in McCulsky, N.D., to Henry and Emma Heitzmann Dalke.
He married Doris Lorraine Hansen on June 20, 1941, in Southgate, Calif., where they lived for 35 years.
Mr. Dalke worked in construction all his life. The Dalkes lived outside Newport, Ore., for 13 years. They lived in Sequim for 10 years before moving to Oak Harbor in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters and son-in-law Linda Kirkpatrick of Garden Grove, Calif., and Stephanie and Kent Williams of Oak Harbor; brother Norman of La Habra, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Whidbey Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service of Oak Harbor was in charge of arrangements.
Dennis George Curran
A memorial Mass for Sequim resident Dennis George Curran will be celebrated in Boston, Mass., in July.
Mr. Curran died May 22, 2009, at the age of 82.
He was born Jan. 20, 1927, in the Bronx, N.Y., to John and Dorothy Dutton Curran.
He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS St. Paul during World War II.
Mr. Curran started working in the food service industry at the Bronx Zoo as a teenager and retired in 1990 as a vice president with ARAMark in the mid-Atlantic states.
He married Ann Marie Bergstrom in Baltimore, Md., in 1973.
He was a member of SunLand Golf and Country Club.

Mary Sippley
No service was reported for Sequim resident Mary Sippley, who died June 1, 2009, at the age of 99.
She was born July 27, 1909, in Falls City, Neb., to Otho and Olive Mae Hanna Thacker.
She married William A. Sippley in Richardson County, Neb.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
David E. Lortz
Private services will be held for Sequim resident David E. Lortz, who died June 8, 2009, at the age of 62.
He was born June 10, 1946, in Colfax.
