Edna Rebecca Thurrott
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave., for Sequim resident Edna Rebecca Thurrott, who died April 12, 2011, at the age of 89. Dr. Scott Koenigsaecker is the officiant.
She was born Aug. 28, 1921, in Thomson, Ga., to James Wilson and Frankie Paschal Reville Blanchard.
She attended Piedmont College from 1940-1942, where she met her husband, Richard “Dick” Thurrott. The couple lived in Georgia, Connecticut and Florida before they moved to Washington in 1959. They retired to Sequim in 1979. She was a poet and aspired to publish a book of poems she had written during the past 30 years.
She is survived by her children, Frankie Elder, Vancouver, British Columbia; Richard B. Thurrott II, Bainbridge Island; and Trudy Kephart, Everett; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on March 8, 2011. They were married for 69 years.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or a charity of choice.
Jesse T. Morgan
Sequim resident Jesse T. Morgan died May 7, 2011, at the age of 21.
He was born Jan. 30, 1990 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Steven and Jamie Parkinson Morgan.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Hettie Coburn
At her request, no services will be held for Port Angeles resident Hettie Coburn, who died May 16, 2011, at the age of 92.
She was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, to Thomas and Susan Griffin Hayward.
