James Berwyn Ball
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Faith Lutheran Church, 382 W. Cedar St., Sequim, for Sequim resident James Berwyn Ball.
A potluck follows. Bring flowers for a memorial garden in his honor.
Mr. Ball died June 11, 2011, at the age of 85.
He was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Thomas Allen and Flora Lee Bell Ball.
He served in the military during World War II and the Korean War.
He married Bonnie Iris Staples on Aug. 24, 1985, in Sequim.
He worked at Sunshine RV Park in Sequim; Black Magic Tavern in Bellevue and in real estate sales in the Seattle area.
He is survived by his wife, Iris; sons and daughters-in-law Tom and Gloria Burkig and Michael and Queenie Packard; daughters and sons-in-law Dena and Dean McLean; Iris Kae and Terry Storm; Diane and Ron King; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four nephews and four nieces.

 

 

Jack T. Flaig
A memorial service will be held for Jack T. Flaig at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Masonic Hall, 700 S. Fifth Ave.,
Sequim.
A celebration of life will be held in Oregon in August.
Mr. Flaig died June 23, 2011, at the age of 68.
He was born April 28, 1943, in Portland, Ore., to Ervin and Norma Flaig.
He served in the United States Air Force with 902 Radar SQ from 1964-1968. He was a staff sergeant. He and his wife, Diane, were married on Nov. 9, 1971, in Sandy, Ore.
He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Portland State University in 1976 and a master’s of business administration from the University of Portland in 1990. He worked in health care administration for more than 30 years and retired as chief executive officer in 2007 from Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. He served on many planning committees and boards in the communities he lived in.
He enjoyed time with family and his dog, Rudy, walking on the beach, listening to music, reading and electronics.
He was a member of Rotary International for more than 25 years and hosted several exchange students in his home. He enjoyed Masonic activities for 30 years and was an honored member of the Masonic Lodge. In 1997, he was past master of the Intrepid Lodge 224 in Hillsboro, Ore.
He also was a member of the Shriners, Scottish Rite and The Q.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Sequim; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Cindy Flaig; daughters and sons-in-law Laura and Paul Keating; Janet and Glen Giammalva; and Kim and Ralph Pregizer; and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be sent to either Compassion & Choices of Washington, the Shriners Hospital for Children or a charity of choice.
Sequim Valley Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Chester L. Rooney
No service was reported for Sequim resident Chester L. Rooney, who died June 30, 2011, at the age of 55.
He was born July 9, 1955, in Port Angeles, to Robert and Joyce Stephens Rooney.  
Drennan & Ford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.   

 

 

Donald W. Lindsey
A celebration of life will be held for Donald W. Lindsey at 3 p.m. Friday, July 8, in the Juan de Fuca Room at the Red Lion Inn, 221 N. Lincoln St. in Port Angeles.
Mr. Lindsey died on June 27, 2011, in Seattle, at the age of 79.
He was born June 12, 1931.
Drennan & Ford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.  

 

 

Larry L. Crouse
A memorial service will be held for Larry L. Crouse at 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Drennan & Ford Funeral Home, 260 Monroe Road, Port Angeles.
Mr. Crouse died on June 30, 2011, at Olympic Medical Center, in Port Angeles. He was born June 1, 1940.
