Elisabeth Brammer Hagelstein
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim, for Port Angeles resident Elisabeth Brammer Hagelstein. A reception follows.
Mrs. Hagelstein died Nov. 20, 2011, at the age of 92.
She was born March 28, 1919, in Neillsville, Wis., to Ole Christian and Thyra Lorentzen Andersen.
She graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in social work. She worked as a social worker in Minneapolis, Minn., and a junior high school teacher in Sturgis, S.D.
She married Arthur A. Hagelstein on March 6, 1943, in Boston, Mass.
The Hagelsteins moved a number of times, including to Spokane, Port Angeles, and Accra, Ghana, while he was establishing his medical career and she raised their family of seven children.
After 10 years in Fort Meade, S.D., they spent many years exploring and working around the world, including in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
They retired to Port Angeles in the 1980s. She was a member of Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Hagelstein; son Eric B. Hagelstein; daughters and sons-in-law Christine Hagelstein-Guy and Gary Guy of Denver, Colo.; Judith Hagelstein of Port Angeles; Marie Hagelstein of Boston, Mass.; Karen Hagelstein and Terry Mudder of Sheridan, Wyo.; Sara Hagelstein of Eureka, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Heidi Hagelstein in 1996, by three sisters and one brother.

Warden Louis Burris
No service was reported for Sequim resident Warden Louis Burris, who died Nov. 20, 2011, at the age of 86.
He was born Nov. 2, 1925.
