Angelo Anthony Marinaro
A funeral Mass was read for Sequim resident Angelo Anthony Marinaro, who died Jan. 17, 2012, at the age 90.
He was born June 4, 1921, in Praise, Ky., to Cataldo and Maria Constantina Paonessa Marinaro.
He served in the United States Army from 1942-1945.
He married Eileen “Joyce” Cowan on June 2, 1945, in the chapel at Fort Lewis in Washington.
Mr. Marinaro earned Bachelor’s and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Kentucky.
He retired as a Washington state teacher and school administrator.
He was active in many local fraternal, veterans and church organizations.
He was an accomplished concertina player and known for telling stories of his past and family history.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, sons Mark Marinaro of Port Angeles and David Marinaro of Bellingham; daughter Joanne Jenkins of Fife; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
John Joseph McFaull
A celebration of life was held for Sequim resident John Joseph McFaull, who died Jan. 23, 2012, at the age of 82.
He was born June 2, 1929, in the Bronx, New York, to Mary Agnes Devlin and John Joseph McFaull, both from North Ireland.
He graduated from West Point in 1953.
He transferred to the United States Air Force, where he flew multi-engine airplanes and was an air training officer at the Air Force Academy.
He met and married Gwen Banta in 1957.
He taught ROTC at the University of Idaho, where he earned his master’s degree in education.
He earned his master’s degree in engineering management at the University of Southern California in 1966 and worked at SAMSO on space and missile development.
He retired from Andrews Air Force Base in 1972.
Mr. McFaull was finance director in Beaverton, Ore., from 1973-1975, assistant finance director in Portland, Ore., 1976-1978, and worked in Salem as director of general services.
He developed computers at Textronix in Beaverton.
He retired in 1990 and moved to Sequim in 1998.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, sang in the choir, and was a member of Knights of Columbus.
He also volunteered at the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen; son Michael; daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Lester Larsen; Patricia Garner; Stephanie McFaull; and Megan and Rod Hall; and 10 grandchildren.
