Kathleen Anna Fischer

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple St., in Sequim, for Sequim resident Kathleen Anna Fischer, who died July 10, 2012, at the age of 92. Burial will be at Sequim View Cemetery, 1505 Sequim-Dungeness Way, at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 20.

 

She was born Nov. 26, 1919, at Devils Lake, N.D., to Porter J. and Barbara Scharf Kettwig.

 

She married Joseph Fischer. She moved to California in 1940 and to Sequim in 1985.

 

She was a foster parent, a Eucharist minister, a secretary, an expert seamstress and a housewife.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and by a daughter, Kathleen A. Villella. She is survived by her daughters Merle Ann Johnson, Connie Villella and Mary Jo Pingree; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

 

Sequim Valley Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

 

Martha Davis

There will be visitation from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, July 20, at Sequim Valley Chapel, 108 W. Alder St., for Sequim resident Martha Davis, who died July 8, 2012, at the age of 88. 

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Sequim View Cemetery, 1505 Sequim-Dungeness Way.

She was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Saco, Mont., to Thomas and Lois Allen Tollefson. She married James Davis on Nov. 24, 1944, in Mount Vernon and moved frequently with his postings in the U.S. Navy.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Shelley, of Sequim; and by two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Sequim Valley Chapel. 

 

 

R. Wayne Uht

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave., for Sequim resident R. Wayne Uht, who died July 15, 2012, at the age of 76. 

Everyone is encouraged to wear a favorite hat in honor of Mr. Uht’s own collection.

He was born May 12, 1936, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Frank O. and Madge White Uht and grew up in the Seattle area. 

He served as a Navy Seabee from 1954-1956. He married Johanna Hill on March 28, 1958.

The couple lived in Issaquah for 32 years, moving to Sequim 18 years ago. 

He was a lifetime member of Sequim Rotary and active with the Irrigation Festival Ditchwalkers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers Keith Uht and Richard Uht.

He is survived by his wife, Johanna; daughter and son-in-law Renee and Greg Mullikin, of Sequim; daughter and son-in-law Marci and Michael Hibbard, of Richland; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
