Carole Doerschlag

March 2, 1932 – May 25, 2016

Sequim resident Carole Doerschlag passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on May 25th at the age of 84.

She was preceded by her husband William and brother Gerald.

Carole is survived by sister Judith, daughters Lynne and Debra, grandchildren Jacob, Benjamin, Karla and Cole, and 4 great grandchildren.

Her quick wit, strong opinions, and compassionate nature will be sorely missed. Carole had a lifelong passion for political science, history, and teaching. She obtained a Master’s degree in education at the University of Washington and taught History and English in the Edmonds School District. She ended her career as a high school guidance counselor, affectionately known as “Missus D” having impacted a generation of students.

She retired to Sequim with her husband William,

where they enjoyed golf and bridge with friends at Sunland, as well as traveling. Carole was also an enthusiastic fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Huskies and Duke basketball.

The family will hold a private memorial service, and suggests donations to the Humane Society, or condolences and remembrances sent to caroledoerschlag@yahoo.com.
