Patsy Setzer

Patsy Lu Setzer

October 7, 1931 – September 5, 2016

Pasty Setzer passed away at her home on September 5, 2016 from age related causes.

She was born October 7, 1931, in Gotebo, Oklahoma, to Troy Truman Hill and Opal C. Hill (Coulter).

When Patsy was 5 the family moved from Oklahoma to Renton,

WA.

After graduating from Renton High School, Patsy started her career in the Hospitality/Restaurant business. After working for a few different restaurants she was hired to work at Kim’s Broiler on Lake Union in Seattle. It was from there Patsy learned the “ins and outs” of running a successful restaurant. In 1964 she took that knowledge and with money she managed to save, she decided Sequim, WA would be the location to launch her new career as restaurateur. The Olympic Cafe soon became Willy’s Restaurant. After many successful years Patsy opened another restaurant, “The Paddy Wagon”, and then later the Hacienda, Sequim’s only Mexican restaurant at that time.

Patsy enjoyed playing Bridge and was a terri c bowler. She was active in community activities and was instrumental in starting the rst Sequim High School Athletic Booster Club. And Patsy always celebrated holidays with great festivity and tradition.

After a few years Patsy decided to retire to Southern California. In 1990 she married Arthur Setzer and enjoyed several years traveling and cruising with friends and family. After Art’s death in 2000 Patsy moved back to Sequim to be near her two sons, Troy (Merry) Herridge of Port Angeles, and Chris (Jacqueline) Banchero of Seattle.

Other than her parents and husband, predeceasing Patsy was her sister Monty Hill. Patsy is survived by her sons Troy and Chris, her grandchildren Jan Herridge of Everett, Tony Herridge of Everett, Christopher Banchero of Manila, Philappines and William Banchero of New York City, two great-grandsons, Taylor Herridge of Everett and Christiano Banchero of Manila, very close family friend Mauricio Cisneros of Port Townsend and Patsy’s precious and faithful dog Mazie.

The family would like to thank Ed and Linda Bauer for their help and encouragement and for being such wonderful neighbors to Patsy.

Services will be held at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane, Sequim, WA on October 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm with reception following at Paradise Restaurant, 703 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim, WA
