Guest opinion: Let the truth set you free

This election year, as never before, Americans have been polarized over the presidential candidates. And the candidates of the two major parties personify that divide in the extreme.

The mainstream media are no help. Evidence has now come forth that conclusively proves the left-leaning bias of the major media outlets controlled by globalist elites. ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN and even PBS have stifled newsworthy evidence of deep-seated corruption at the highest levels of our government and have worked feverishly to denigrate anyone who challenges the globalist, anti-American establishment.

Witness the unrelenting attacks on Trump for social and moral transgressions committed as a private citizen decades ago, with little or no concern for the ongoing political, ethical and moral transgressions committed by the Clintons throughout their decades in public office even to the present.

The scandalous refusal of the DOJ and FBI to prosecute Hillary Clinton for lying to Congress, to the FBI and to the American people after illegally dumping evidence of mishandling classified material as Secretary of State have been largely downplayed by the media.

Because of this blatant bias and hypocrisy displayed by the mainstream media, I am compelled to present an honest assessment of the two candidates, based on their words and their platforms presented to the people, as well as polls that show who the endorsers are for each candidate.

Let’s put aside our moralistic revulsion and just look at where each stands on the issues as revealed by their own words.

Immigration:

Trump wants a more extensive wall on the southern border and increased border security through enhanced electronic surveillance and a larger contingent of border agents. He wants illegal aliens deported, but given an opportunity to apply for re-entrance the U.S. through a vetting process to screen out criminals and potential terrorists. Clinton wants “open borders,” saying she doesn’t believe in borders.

Abortion:

Trump wants to defund Planned Parenthood and outlaw abortions of late-term babies. Clinton believes it is a woman’s right to kill her child up to the moment of birth.

The Economy:

Trump wants to renegotiate our trade agreements with foreign nations to give the U.S. a more competitive edge and to create conditions that will allow companies to stay in the U.S. and provide jobs. He is against globalization. Clinton wants to force the wealthy to pay higher taxes so that the federal government can provide more free benefits to more people — redistribution of wealth. She is for globalization and submitting the U.S. to the IMF, international courts of law and the U.N.

The Military:

Trump wants a stronger military and improvement of conditions at the VA, making sure our veterans are properly taken care of. Clinton has little to say about this except she is “for our veterans.” But through her decades of public office she has done little for them.

Here is a partial list of those supporting each candidate based on their own claims and polls among certain groups:

Donald Trump:

High command military personnel; most military of all ranks; most veterans; the National Rifle Association; most law enforcement agencies; the Border Patrol; most Evangelical Christians

Hillary Clinton:

Planned Parenthood; The Communist Party USA; many Socialists; illegal aliens.

Perhaps you identify with some from each group. That’s OK. But now, you choose which overall group you identify with. Only don’t ignore these truths presented here.

When we close our eyes to truth we become enslaved to the lies of those who wish to destroy all we hold dear. I especially appeal to those who call themselves “Christians” to remember the words of Jesus: “If you continue in My word, then you are My disciples. And you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Then vote accordingly.
