Never too late to bike
What is a biker? It really is just about anyone. The hardcore down hiller to the old lady on a three-wheel heading for the store. The kid doing tricks on a BMX to an elite racer on a bike that cost more than most cars. They are any age, gender, race and disability. They are people who ride for fun and for work. A weekend adventurer to a daily commuter. This is what a biker is.
Some started riding to save gas. Others for health reasons. Yet one common factor is how alive we feel when on a bike. Our senses become more aware every pedal stroke we take. The smell of freshness from a recent rain. The sun shining on a far away hillside. An almost mutual respect as an eagle flies even with you as you silently pedal along the bluffs by the ocean shores. Solving the world problems with a friend.
You can ride by yourself or with a group. You do not see a steep hill, major rain, wind or cold as adversity. They are ways to forge a resolve of unexpected toughness. You did something only others wish they had the nerve to at least attempt.
It is never to late to get back on a bike. To feel the freedom of going at your own pace. This is National Bike month and I cannot think of a better time to do something that will help you in so many ways to becoming a better person.
