Essay contest is for middle schoolers

The Baha'i Assembly of Clallam County East is sponsoring a writing contest for students at Sequim Middle School in honor of United Nations Human Rights Day on Dec. 10.

The 250-500 words essay topic is "What do universal human rights mean to me?" Essays are to be double-spaced and typed or hand-written. Students should write their paper as an essay or personal view not a report. Examples are acceptable.

A title page should include: student's name, address, phone number, parent name and his/her signature.

Essays are due postmarked by Monday, Nov. 22, to CCE Baha'i Assembly, P.O. Box 915, Carlsborg, WA 98324.

Winners are notified by phone on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Prizes are awarded and read by winners Friday, Dec. 10, at the Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

SHS choir sings at Trinity United

The Sequim High School choir is performing from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave. The concert is in conjunction with a free monthly dinner the church hosts.
