Ackley named to Adelphi's dean's list

Taylor Ackley of Sequim was named to Adelphi University's dean's list for the spring 2010 semester.

Ackley is a 2008 graduate of Sequim High School. Adelphi is in Garden City, N.Y.

Register now for December ACT test

Registration is open for the Dec. 11 ACT achievement test. Students who wish to take the college admission and placement exam must register before Nov. 5.

The ACT is a curriculum-based, precollege exam with four sections - English, mathematics, reading and science - and takes about three hours to complete. Students who take the ACT Plus Writing complete an optional writing test that requires an additional 30 minutes.

ACT scores are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities across the United States.

Cost for the ACT test without writing is $33 or $48 with the writing exam.

Registration is available until Nov. 19 for an extra $21 fee.

SHS 'Haunted Hallways' set for Oct. 30

Sequim High School (601 N. Sequim Ave.) hosts "Haunted Hallways" from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, in the H building.

Attendees are asked to park by the high school soccer fields just north of the H building.
