Senior party seeks donations
Organizers of the 2011 Sequim High School Senior Party are asking for donations for the June event.
The senior party is an alcohol- and substance-free event for graduating Sequim seniors after commencement ceremonies. The party includes music, contests, food, prizes, raffles, games and more.
Donations are tax-deductible.
The party is scheduled for 10 p.m.-4 a.m, Friday, June 17. For more information, call Grace Chumley at 582-9040 or Tim Richard at 683-3424.

SHS band boosters host rummage sale
Sequim High School Band Boosters are sponsoring a rummage sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, in the high school cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
Proceeds benefit the high school marching band and flag teams.
Both groups are preparing to travel to the Heritage Festival in Anaheim, Calif., in March. While in Anaheim, the bands compete with other jazz and concert bands from around the country and also lead the Disneyland parade down Main Street.
In 2009, the band won the Heritage Festival Spirit Award, given to the band that best represents its community in competition by its performance and conduct.

Sequim puts 6 on EWU dean’s list
Six Sequim students were named to Eastern Washington University’s dean’s list for fall quarter 2010.
They are Michael
Barth, Ashlee Bourns, Derrell Jensen, Justin Mauger, Erin Pallai and Sarah Stuart Keltonic.
To qualify for the dean’s list at EWU, students must post a grade-point average of 3.50 or better with at least 12 quality hours.

Exchange group seeks host families
Representatives from World Heritage, a nonprofit student exchange program, are seeking families to serve as a hosts for high school exchange students.
Host families provide room and board, plus guidance for teens living abroad. Couples and single parents, and families with and without children in the home all are encouraged to apply.
