Teacher Riley Stites brought his Building Trades class for a visit to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Hall classroom/shop on March 22 for a copper soldering demonstration/workshop.

Students were seated in an on-site classroom for instruction and a safety talk. Then they watched a demonstration of lighting a torch and soldering pieces of copper piping.

Students then donned safety goggles and gloves and took turns soldering.

The youths also were given T-shirts as a souvenir of the outing.
