Sequim Youth Basketball opens registration

Entering its sixth season of play, Sequim Youth Basketball is open to boys and girls in grades one-six. Each player receives a team shirt, weekly practice sessions (depending on gym availability) and six or seven games.

League officials do evaluations and establish team rosters following Thanksgiving and open season play following the Christmas holiday break to provide an even flow to the season.

All players should plan to attend one of the registration/evaluation sessions, set for 8:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, and 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, both at Sequim Middle School gym, 301 W. Hendrickson Road.

Those wishing to register before the second session but unable to attend the Nov. 28 session are asked to mail in a registration form and fee by Dec. 1.

Registration fees are $40 for players in grades three-six and $30 for players in grades one-two. A family maximum is set at $100 (families with financial needs may be eligible for reduced rates).

Coaches hope to have rosters established by Dec. 12.

Games are each Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. Jan. 10. The season usually wraps up by the end of February.
