Knights give Wolves first loss

Bremerton's Knight showed why they're considered one of the top teams in the state, topping Sequim 6-1 on Nov. 24 in Bremerton.

The loss drops Sequim to 3-1 on the young season.

Kim Duce led the Wolves with a 321-pin, two-game series, knocking down 185 pins in the second game. Alex Whiteside (193) and Sam Whiteside (244) were Sequim's other top bowlers.

Shanarra Hankinson led the Knights with a 359 series and game-high 197 pins in the second game while Kirstie Williams (290 series), Merissa Duzenski (288) and Misty Braddock (283) helped Bremerton get the win.

Sequim did take the first Baker-format game, 159-149, but lost the other Baker game, two regular games and overall pin count (1,788 to 1,600).

The Wolves were slated to take on league powerhouse Olympic on Dec. 1 - results were unavailable at press time. Sequim hosts Peninsula (Gig Harbor) on Dec. 3 and travels to Silverdale to take on Klahowya on Dec. 8.
