Bulldogs bowl upset vs SHS

Only a pin-total tiebreaker could decide the winner as North Mason upset Sequim's bowling squad on Dec. 10.

Samantha Whiteside led the Wolves with a 310-pin series, but the Bulldogs - whom Sequim had beaten each of their last four meetings - got 334 pins from Megan Miller and took one of each regular and Baker-format games.

Sequim won the opening game 643-579 but the Bulldogs, behind April Griffiths' 191-pin game, scored a 749-647 win in game two.

After the teams split two close Baker games - North Mason took game one 112-106, Sequim won game two, 151-146 - the Bulldogs wound up with the win, scoring 1,586 total pins to Sequim's 1,547.

Alex Whiteside helped the Wolves' cause with 283 pins while Kim Duce chipped in with a 277-pin series.

The Wolves were scheduled to host Bremerton on Dec. 15, the first of five consecutive home dates - results were unavailable at press time.

Sequim is back in action Dec. 17 versus Olympic, the team's final match of the calendar year. The Wolves host Peninsula on Jan. 7.
