Vikings fend off Wolf attack

The road-weary Wolves got little help from their host to the east, dropping a 57-32 Olympic League game at North Kitsap on Jan. 9.

Lauryn Blevins led the host Vikings with 12 points, four assists and eight steals while teammate Lexi Simmonds contributed six points and 10 rebounds.

The Wolves dropped their ninth decision of the campaign and now have lost 32 consecutive games dating back to February 2008.

Sequim has played just two home games this season.

The Wolves got seven points from Rylleigh Zbaraschuk, five points from Haleigh Harrison and four points each from Bailey Rookard and Christy Ruiz.

North Kitsap led 15-7 after one quarter, 32-17 at halftime and 39-22 after three quarters.

Sequim was slated to play at Bremerton on Jan. 12 - results were unavailable at press time. The Wolves host Olympic on Jan. 15.

Sequim falls at Kingston

The Kingston Buccaneers may have a fighting chance of winning the Olympic League title.

No need to tell that to the Sequim Wolves.

Kingston dismantled the Wolves with ease on Jan. 5, taking a 23-3 first-quarter advantage and outscored Sequim 15-0 in the second quarter.

The Bucs led 52-5 after three quarters.

Sophia Baetz led a balanced Buc attack with 10 points while Elle Sander had nine points. Julia Goar and Maggie Snaza had eight points each.

Lindsey Soha led Sequim with five points and Rookard added four points.
