Cedars hosts winter series golf tourney

The Cedars at Dungeness was selected to host one of the four Washington State Golf Association's Winter Tournament Series events.

In its third year, the series was designed to give members the chance to compete during the winter.

The first event is a Stableford tournament at the Bellevue Municipal Golf Course on Jan. 22. On Feb. 22, Oakbrook Golf & Country Club in Lakewood will host a two-person scramble.

The Cedars at Dungeness hosts a stroke-play event on March 26, followed by a two-person, best-ball tournament April 9 at Apple Tree Reston in Yakima.

SkyRidge's Winter Links tourney set

for Feb. 6

SkyRidge Golf Course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway, is the setting for the course's 27-hole Winter Links Open, slated for Saturday, Feb. 6.

The event starts with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and features a different format for each nine holes. Each team switches partners within their group to form two-person teams for each nine-hole format. The first nine holes are a scramble, the second nine are best ball and the third set of nine holes is alternating shots. Each team posts a 54-hole total score.

Cost is $160 per four-person team. Carts are $15 per seat.

Junior soccer

opens registration

Sequim Junior Soccer spring league registration is open for all players in groups U-8 to U-15.

Register early to receive a discount. Early registration ends Feb. 14.
