Soccer club brings UK camps to Sequim

As the U.S. men's national soccer team prepares for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Sequim Junior Soccer Club members set to stage their own international summer event right here in Sequim.

The club hosts UK International Soccer Camps July 19-23 at Sequim High School soccer fields, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

UK International Soccer Camps staffers are predominantly from the United Kingdom, Europe and South America.

"We have staff from over 17 nations," said Stewart Boniface, UK International Soccer Camp regional director. "Combining their international passion for soccer and cultural perspective, along with our specialized training creates a very unique and dynamic camp program, which goes far beyond the soccer field. This really is a cultural soccer extravaganza for all involved."

All players ages 5-18 are welcome to attend the weeklong program.

Cost for players is $99 for half-day (9 a.m.-noon) or $144 for full day (9 a.m.-3 p.m.).

A free parent and coach clinic is scheduled for the Saturday morning following the camp.
