Sequim Baseball auction set

Sequim Baseball, a summer league club ball team, is hosting a dinner and auction at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, at John Wayne Marina, 2577 W. Sequim Bay Road.

Cost is $25 per couple.

The event features Jeremiah's BBQ chicken.

Slowpitch league starts

The Sequim Recreational Slow Pitch League is open to any business, civic organization or church in the Sequim-Port Angeles area.

Cost is $50 per team; no individual fees are required.

Proceeds support the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.

Klahhane opens summer classes

Klahhane Gymnastics, a Port Angeles-based club, has opened registration for weekly classes for youths of ages 3-14, as well as three-day gymnastics summer camps for kids in grades 1-5.

Classes and camps begin June 21 and continue through Aug. 26. A flexible weekly scheduling allows participation in other activities and time off for family vacations.

EDC golf tourney set

Clallam Economic Development Council's 2010 golf tournament is Friday, June 11, at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course, 1965 Woodcock Road.

Four-player teams compete in a scramble format beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

This is the EDC's only fundraising activity. Sponsors are 7 Cedars Casino and First Federal.

Impact Washington, formerly known as Washington Manufacturing Services, is sponsoring the tourney's to-go breakfast while Kenmore Air Express is the awards luncheon sponsor.

Discovery Trail helpers host work party in June

The Peninsula Trails Coalition is hosting its next Olympic Discovery Trail work party from 9:30-noon on Saturday, June 12.

Helpers are removing scotch broom along the trail near Whitefeather Way, east of Sequim.

Those wishing to help are asked to park and meet near the trail kiosk on Whitefeather Way and to bring work gloves.
