Klahhane Gymnastics hosts 3-day summer camps

Klahhane Gymnastics is offering a series of three-day camps this summer for boys and girls in grades one-12.

Four sessions of "Fun and Fit Gymnastics Camps" for boys and girls of ages 6-11 are set for Tuesday through Thursday, June 29-July 1, July 20-23, July 27-29 and Aug. 24-26.

Two sessions of "Gymnastics and Dance" for girls of ages 6-10 are June 22-24 and Aug. 10-12. Registration for June 22 camp closes June 17. Registration for additional camp sessions continues until camps fill.

One session of "Advanced Dance and Gymnastics" for girls of ages 11 through high school and for competitive team members is scheduled for July 13-15.

Klahhane Gymnastics is at 3318 E. Acorn Lane, Port Angeles.

For more information, call 457-5187 during registration hours (4-6 p.m.) through June 17. Starting June 21, facility hours will be 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Mondays and noon-6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.



Klahhane gymnasts shine in Everett

Seven gymnasts from the Port Angeles-based Klahhane Gymnastics club competed at the North Sectional Meet in Everett in March.

Danica Miller, Karlie Gochnour and Christine Beirne each posted strong finishes in Everett to qualify for the Silver Division Level 4 state meet. Miller was eighth in all-around scoring in the Senior B division with 35.35 points, while Gochnour was 10th in the same division, scoring 33.75 points. Beirne was eighth in the Junior C division with 33.675 points.

Also qualifying for the state meet were Haylee Ward (33.10 points), Laura Rooney (31.275) and Sydney Miner (33.20).

Klahhane's Maya Wharton qualified for state Level 6 competition after posting a 32.30 point all-around score in sectional competition.
