Soccer club brings UK camp to Sequim

Sequim Junior Soccer Club hosts UK International Soccer Camp July 19-23 at Sequim High School soccer fields, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

All players ages 5-18 are welcome to attend the weeklong program.

Cost for players is $99 for half-day (9 a.m.-noon) or $144 for full day (9 a.m.-3 p.m.).

A free parent and coach clinic is scheduled for the Saturday morning following the camp.

Youth volleyball camps come to P.A.

Volleyball camps for youths in grades kindergarten through high school senior are slated for mid-July at Port Angeles High School, 304 E. Park Ave.

Christine Halberg, head coach at Port Angeles High School, manages the camps along with her staff.

Camp dates are as follows. All ages are for 2010-2011 school year:

_ Kindergarten-sixth grade - 9 a.m.-noon, July 19-22. Register through Clallam County YMCA, 452-9244. Cost is $40 for YMCA members, $50 for nonmembers.

_ Seventh-ninth grade - 9 a.m.-noon, July 12-15. Register by calling Christine Halberg (504-2654). Cost is $50.

_ 10th-12th grade - 1-4 p.m., July 12-15. Register by calling Halberg. Cost is $50.

For all camps, register by July 1 to ensure receiving a t-shirt.

Wrestling camp set

The Olympic Mountain Wrestlers present its eighth annual camp, "Olympians in the Olympic Mountains," from July 26-29 at Port Angeles High School, 304 E. Park Ave.

The camp features instruction from Bruce Baumgartner, American Olympic Freestyle wrestling champion, and Justin Abdou, 2000 Canadian Olympian and coach at Simon Fraser University.

Cost is $125 and includes lunch each day and a camp T-shirt. The camp has a $10 discount for groups of 5-10, $25 for groups of 10 or more; $25 return camper discount; and a $25 early registration discount before July 1.

Sessions are 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3:30 p.m.

Open volleyball at Stevens

Volleyballers seeking a place to play this summer may want to check out play at Stevens Middle School, 1139 W. 14th St, Port Angeles.

An open gym is scheduled each Friday evening from 7-10 p.m.

Players need only sign in on an entry sheet and contribute $1.

Cedars' women's club seeks players

The Women's Club at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course is open to all female golfers to participate in weekly and special events at the course.

The group plays on Tuesday mornings with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. Weekly events run through October.
