Sequim’s Wolves missed out on taking the team to their third consecutive district tournament by less than 100 points, but most of the Wolfpack is moving on anyway.

Kim Duce led Sequim at the Olympic League tourney in Silverdale Jan. 20 with a three-game series of 470 pins, as four Sequim bowlers are advancing to districts.

Joining her is Sage Brown, who bowled a 390-pin series, along with Mikayla Ahlin (375) and Danyelle Wilson (337).

The four will compete at the district tourney Jan. 29 in Tacoma. Top individual bowlers and the four highest-scoring teams advance to the class 2A/3A meet, set for Feb. 4-5 at Narrows Plaza Bowl in University Place.

Duce, a senior, bowled a 204 to close out her performance at the league meet. She placed 10th overall and was named to the all-tournament team. She and Brown were honored as second-team all-league bowlers. Duce averaged 163 pins per game in the regular season while Brown, a senior, averaged 153 pins per game.

Sequim tallied 2,398 pins for fifth place out of six teams, just 94 pins behind North Mason.

Bremerton took top honors at the league meet, finishing more than 200 pins ahead of runner-up Klahowya.

Freshman Abby King led the champion Knights with a 614-pin series, including a tourney best 242 pins in her first game.

Defending 2A/3A state champion Carys Bailey of Klahowya was seventh.

After a 7-0 loss to Olympic on Jan. 20, Sequim finished 2-9 on the season, fifth place in the Olympic League.

Klahowya and Olympic finished atop the league standings with 10-2 records.
