Rested Wolves beat Bulldogs

Sequim Gazette staff

When they actually get a chance to play, these Wolves show some bite.

The North Mason Bulldogs found that out last week as Sequim (2-2) blank-ed their hosts in Belfair, 7-0, on April 11.

Stacy Hanson won in No. 1 singles, 6-0 and 6-1 against Misha Orchard while Sequim teammate Katrina Chan topped Tiffany Nelson in No. 2 singles action, 6-1 and 6-2.

Sequim’s Hillary Smith dropped Bulldog Hannah Phillips, 6-1 and 6-2.

In No. 1 doubles play, Sequim’s Serena Okamoto and Anna Prorok took a straight-set win from top North Mason duo Katrina Martin and Lexi Zevnick, 6-0 and 6-4.

Also picking up straight-set doubles victories were Jessica DeFilippo and Elizabeth Shore, Kortney Oen and Hanna Smith, and Melanie Guan and Anna Mittmann.

But as the case has been most of the season, most of Sequim’s matches last week were postponed. An April 14 date against Port Angeles was postponed to April 29 while an April 15 match-up with Kingston was postponed indefinitely.

Sequim was scheduled (weather permitting) to play at Port Townsend on April 18 — results of the match were not available at press time for this section.

Sequim hosts Bremerton on April 22 and is at Port Angeles on April 25.
