Sequim quartet plays as all-stars

Four baseball stars from the Sequim Wolves’ 2011 roster took on other West Sound region stars at the Senior All-Star Baseball doubleheader June 3 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds.

Sequim’s representatives included Drew Rickerson, Preston McFarlen, Weston Royall and Isaac Yamamoto, who played on the “American” team along with players from Kingston, Olympic and Port Angeles. They took on the “National” team, comprised of players from Bremerton, Central Kitsap, Klahowya, North Mason, North Kitsap, Port Townsend and South Kitsap.

The Americans won game one, 10-5, as Yamamoto went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Rickerson was 1-for-3 with an RBI and McFarlen and Royall both went 1-for-1.

The Nationals took game two, 9-3. Rickerson had a hit for the Americans in the loss.

Yamamoto was one of the 10 players nominated to play in the All-State baseball series in Yakima the following week.
