Lady Niners tee off in March
The Dungeness Lady Niners’ 2012-2013 golf season begins Thursday, March 1, at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course, 1965 Woodcock Road.
Captain Shari Miller extends an invitation to all interested ladies, regardless of level of play, to join the group for a season of fun and friendship. 
Check-in time is 9:30 a.m. with tee-off at 10:30 a.m. The early arrival allows for the creation of teams for that day’s play, a chance to share new information regarding the game and to say hello to old friends and new.

P.A. hosts youth hoops tourney
The Port Angeles Recreation Department is hosting the Olympic Lodge Spring Hoopfest Tournament on March 10-11, with divisions for boys and girls basketball teams in the fifth grade through high school.
There is a four-game guarantee and a $250 entry fee.

Shamrock tourney all set
SkyRidge Golf Course hosts its sixth Shamrock Scramble, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, at the course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway.
Cost is $160 per four-person team. Fee includes four chances for two KPs, long putt contest on hole No. 18, golf, lunch (including Irish stew) and range balls. Optional honey pots are $40 per team.
Cart reservations are $12 per seat.
Players are encouraged to dress in their top Irish garb.
Payments must be turned in by March 11.

Volleyball tourney is on tap
The Four-Leaf Clover Reverse Fours volleyball tournament is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. start on Saturday, March 17 — St. Patrick’s Day — at Port Angeles High School, 304 E. Park Ave.
Format is general reverse rules, with a women’s-height net, men hit behind the three-meter line and men cannot block women’s hits.
There are A and B divisions and prizes for division winners.
Cost is $80 per team.
