Sequim trio take tennis tourney titles

 

The sun wasn't the only thing shining last week in Port Angeles.

The Saundra Kent Memorial Tennis Tournament got under way at Erickson Park courts Aug. 3-5, with singles and men's senior doubles action.

Three Sequim players took home championships on Sunday afternoon, including Doug Hastings in men's 5.0 singles, Byron Boots in men's 4.5 singles and Tricia Stratton in women's 3.5 singles.

Other winners included Port Angeles' Kendall Wake in men's 3.5 singles, Dean Ratzman of San Diego in men's 50-plus singles, and Port Angeles duo Randy Johnson and Dennis Yakovich in senior doubles.

Saundra Kent doubles play is scheduled for Aug. 10-12, also at Erickson Park courts.
