Cross Country: Wolves find the finish line

For Sequim High runners, the cross country season didn't end at the state meet.

Six of Sequim's top varsity boys tacked on another race to their 2012 campaign, finishing 13th out of 24 competing varsity boys' teams at the elite Nike Cross Northwest Regional Championships in Boise, Idaho, on Nov. 10.

Senior Adrian Clifford was Sequim's top runner with a 17:34 finish in the 5,000-meter race, good for 53rd overall out of 257 runners.

Peter Ohnstad was 14 seconds back, placing 86th.

Other Sequim finishers include Mikey Cobb (121st, 18:01), C.J. Daniels (144th, 18:11), Chris Jeffko (182nd, 18:26) and Dylan Chatters (199th, 18:45). Jackson Oliver also competed and finished the race in about 18:30 but his results were not posted online.

Kingston also brought a team of high school runners; they placed 18th overall, led by Devon Jacob's 28th-place finish.

Michael Cobb, SHS assistant coach, said the race-time temperature hovered at about 36 degrees.

The event was held at Eagle Island Cross Country Course in Boise.
