Men's basketball: Pirates outlast Shoreline

It was no smooth sailing, but Peninsula's Pirates outlasted the high-tempo Shoreline Dolphins on Jan. 23 in a 121-108 decision in Port Angeles.

Salim Gloyd led eight P.C. players in double figures with 20 and tied teammate Djuan Smith for a team-high 12 rebounds.

Treshawn King-Dunbar had 16 points and 12 of P.C.'s 38 assists, while Xavier Bazile (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Smith (14 points, 12 rebounds) each picked up double-doubles.

Shoreline (1-5 in conference, 2-13 overall) kept pace with P.C. through the first half as the teams were knotted at 52-52, but Peninsula scored 69 second-half points to prevail.

Kaden Stewart led the Dolphins with 24 points and Josh Youngblood added 22.

Peninsula (5-1, 14-5) out-rebounded Shoreline, 55-35.

The Pirates are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 26, as they take on the Bellevue Bulldogs (3-3, 11-7) on the road.
