Sequim Babe Ruth squad falls at state tourney

Sequim’s Babe Ruth 15-Year-Old all-star team went 1-2 at the Washington state 2013 Northern Washington Babe Ruth tourney in Ephrata last week.

Sequim opened the tourney in a big way, clobbering North Kitsap 21-1 on July 17, then fell to Columbia Basin 10-8 the following day.

On July 19, Sequim fell to Olympic 4-1, eliminating the team from contention. Columbia Basin won the state title with a perfect 3-0 mark, topping Olympic 15-2 in five innings in the July 20 championship game.

Sequim’s team featured 10 players from Clallam Co-op and four from First Federal.
