Sequim Middle School’s eighth-grade varsity squad recently wrapped up its season with a 6-4 record, third in its league.

The players selected several postseason award winners including Most Improved — Max Koonz, Mr. Hustle — Gavin Velarde and MVP — Payton Glasser. Coach’s awards went to Matthew Willis and John Edson.

“We improved throughout the season as individual players and collectively as a team,” head coach Kris Henrikson said.

“We faced adversity at different times during the season and we persevered through and came out better on the other side. I am also pleased with our advancement in the classroom with kids moving their grades up and encouraging one another to work hard.”
