Play ball! Sequim Little League opens 2014 season SLIDESHOW

Batter up!

The Sequim Little League kicked off its 2014 season in fine fashion Saturday, welcoming players, parents and supporters of its 18 teams to James Standard Park on April 12.

The league features teams in seven divisions: Senior, Major and Minor Girls; Major and Minor boys; prep coed and T-ball.

Boy Scout Troop 1492 led the Color Guard, reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and raising of the American flag. Player Shelby Wells sang the National Anthem, players Zachery McCracken and Raelyn Opdyke recited the Little League Pledge and Jerry Mote offered the closing blessing.

Players Kylynn Stringer and Silas Thomas threw out the first pitches of the season.
