Hit the Spit on explorers walk Saturday

Join the Olympic Peninsula Explorers Walk on Saturday June 14, for a Dungeness Spit walk.

Sign-up is at the QFC store, 990 B E. Washington St., Sequim Wa. at 8:45 a.m. and the group leaves for the Dungeness Spit at 9 a.m. The walk is 5, 10 or 20 kilometers. The walk is free.

The route goes by bluffs over-looking the Straits, past meadows and out onto the Dungeness Spit. For the more energetic ones, hike out to the Lighthouse.

No pets allowed on this walk. Baby joggers would be hard to use on the spit itself because of the sand. Maps will be furnished at the sign up point.

A potluck meeting follows at Sunland Golf & Country Club.
