Annual gear swap, ski/snowboard film screening set for Nov. 4

Are you ready for the winter sports season?

The Outdoor Gear Swap is set for noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Buy or sell used gear and equipment (ski and snowboard gear, bikes, kayaks, etc.) and clothing, and check out local outdoor activities, merchandise and rental information.

Drop off your gear at Vern Burton between 10-11 a.m. that day. Return at 4 p.m. to see what sold and pick up unsold gear.

Cost is $5 per person or $8 for a family pass.

At 7 p.m. at the Vern Burton Center, the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Education Foundation presents filmmaker Warren Miller’s latest creation “Line of Descent.” Admission is $10. Watch both legendary athletes like Tommy Moe and fresh faces such as Kalen Thorien find the best lines in both the United States and abroad, with locations including Jackson Hole, Silverton, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Steamboat to the French Alps, New Zealand, Norway and British Columbia.

The event is sponsored by the Hurricane Ridge Ski Team and the Hamilton Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization.
