Bremerton turned on the pressure and turned a three-point, third-quarter advantage into a double-digit win Friday night against the visiting Sequim Wolves in a 54-43 Olympic League victory.

Eli Olson led the Knights with 20 points as Bremerton hit 16 of 20 from the foul line in the final eight minutes to seal the victory.

Nic Thacker led Sequim (3-4 in Olympic League play, 4-7 overall) with 16 points, but the Wolves committed 20 turnovers in their first game following a victory over undefeated Port Townsend.

The Wolves kept it close throughout, trailing just 20-19 at halftime and 33-30 after three quarters.

Ary Webb added eight points and Mike Silliman chipped in with seven points.

Sequim’s key match-up with then league-leading North Mason Jan. 8 was postponed thanks to heavy snowfall in the Belfair area; the make-up date is Feb. 5.

The Wolves were scheduled to take on Peninsula’s Seahawks (4-4, 4-8) in Gig Harbor Jan. 15 — results for this edition were unavailable at press time. Sequim hosts Olympic (3-5, 3-7) on Jan. 18.
