Sequim High School got a big boost from the academic efforts of its student-athletes during winter quarter in the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association-sponsored Scholastic Cup competition, getting 100 points from its academic state champion jazz band and top classroom efforts from its choir, boys swim team and girls bowling team.
More than two-thirds of Sequims 270 Scholastic Cup points are from the academic realm, placing the Wolves 17th among the 52 participating 2A schools.
The Wolves are easily the top-performing 2A school in the Olympic League, ahead of Klahowya (100 points, 31st overall), Port Townsend (80, 35th), North Mason (70, 38th) and Kingston (20, 49th).
