Peninsula College recently awarded 14 scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year, including one each to Sequim students Andrew Powers and Karina Pillen.
Powers was awarded a First Federal Academic Excellence scholarship, along with Olga Fedorovskaya of Port Townsend. Pillen received the Irma Lindsey Memorial Scholarship.
Three more scholarships are still available and applications are accepted through June 2.
The open scholarships include: Graduating High School Senior for Jefferson County, Graduating High School Senior for Sequim High School and the Osterberg_Dier Fisheries Scholarship. Applications are available in the Peninsula College Financial Aid Office and must be received by the close of the workday on June 2.
