Four matches, four wins.

Sequim's boys' tennis squad is perfect so far after sweeping a pair of matches early last week.

On Sept. 15, Sequim lost just one set in a 7-0 blanking of Kingston, a team that the Wolves barely got by 4-3 in each of their meetings in 2007.

Reed Gunstone had the toughest match, outlasting Buccaneer Jerol Bird, 3-6, 6-1 and 7-6. Mallory Maloney didn't lose a point in a straight set win against Nick Anderson while teammate Ettore Scudo dropped Kingston's Sam Shoemaker 6-1, 6-1.

Sequim's Michael Lee and David Richards combined to win in No. 1 doubles, topping Kingston's Cory Combs and Loren Klemesrud, 6-2 and 6-1. Alex Lamb and Greg Robinson lost just one point in each set in a straight set win against Cameron Groh and Nathan Hirsch.

Other Sequim winners include Robbie Blenk and Alex Skinner in No. 3 doubles, and Andrew Gunstone and Waylon Lam in No. 4 doubles.

Two days later, the Wolves had an even easier time with the combined Port Townsend/Chimacum squad, winning 7-0.

Maloney won in No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Perry Pearsall while Richards topped Redskin No. 2 Carlos Burleson, 6-3 and 6-2. Blenk earned a singles win with a 7-5, 6-2 victory against Ian Norris.

In doubles action, Reed Gunstone and Lee topped Port Townsend No. 1 doubles team Benny Ryweck and Stevie Weaver, 6-2 and 6-0, while

Sequim teammates Lamb and Robinson combined for their second doubles win of the week, dropping Dylan Holbrook and Clayton Rennie 6-0 and 6-1. Other Sequim winners included Scudo and Alex Skinner at No. 3 doubles, and Lam and Andrew Gunstone at No. 4 doubles.
