Crosby, area riders compete at O-Mok-See

Ady Crosby of Agnew, riding in the intermediate division, tied for individual high-point rider as 10 area riders competed in the 29th annual Pacific Northwest O-Mok-See Championships held Sept. 26-28 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
Crosby tied with Andrea Gangloff of Snohomish for top intermediate rider. Crosby also won Shotgun Flags and was second in Championship Poles. She teamed with Landis Lutton of Blaine to win Two-Rider Three-Barrel Flags and placed second in Ribbon Race and Two-Rider Stake.
Tylar Decker of Sequim was 10th in the junior division. Marie Decker and Sam Parks were third in Ribbon Race and Two-Rider Stake.
O-Mok-See, according to Blackfeet Indian lore, means "Riding Big" in patterned horse racing. The event brought 170 riders from Washington,
Oregon and Idaho to compete in 10 individual and four horse team events. The three-day competition is a test of horsemanship, stamina and concentration.
Area riders included Kaitlin Meek, Pee-Wee Division; Travis Decker, Clara Duncan and Anne Meek, Junior Division; Crosby, Tori Cantelow and Ashley Priddy, Intermediate Division; and Parks, Marie Decker and Glenda Meek, Senior Division.
