Huff, four Wolves earn all-league nods

The accolades just keep coming in.
Four Sequim Wolves were named to the All-Olympic League cross country team last week after posting top performances during the season and Sequim head coach Harold Huff won the league's girls Coach of the Year award.
Sequim's Allison Cutting and Audrey Lichten were named to the all-league team, as were Kenny Russell and Ben Ohnstad.
After finishing second to Kingston's Ruby Roberts at both Olympic League and District meets, Cutting won the class 2A state meet Nov. 8 in Pasco, edging Roberts by nine seconds. Lichten was sixth at the league meet, fourth at districts and 20th overall at the state meet.
Russell finished ninth at the Olympic League meet, then went on to win the West Central District title. He finished 36th at state. Ohnstad was 10th at the league meet and 19th at districts before missing state with a broken leg.
Huff's girls team wound up with a 6-2 regular season mark and second place at the league meet before winning their fourth-consecutive West Central District meet. The Wolves finished fourth at state, a tie for their best finish in school history.
Others named to the all-Olympic girls team include: Roberts, her sister Marina and Rose Bishop of Kingston; Alison Maxwell of Port Angeles; and Hilary Leonard, Elizabeth Staker, Annelise Weinmann and Shawna Williams of the North Kitsap Vikings, who won the league sportsmanship award.
Others named to the all-Olympic boys team include: Quinton Decker and Bereket Piatt of Port Townsend; John Christian and Brad Garrett of Port Angeles; John Wojtech of Olympic; and Joel Brose, Tabor Reedy and Tyler Spear of North Kitsap.
The boys' Coach of the Year award went to Kevin Sanford of Port Townsend. Klahowya and Port Angeles shared the Team Sportsmanship award.
