The Peninsula College Soccer team has nine players making commitments for the 2009 fall season.

P.C. Pirate head coach Andrew Chapman offers his take on the new recruits:

_ Aaron Funderburk, 5-foot 9-inch midfielder, Roseburg High School (Roseburg, Ore.). Funderburk plays for the Eugene Metros and was a starter in high school. Chapman: The midfielder has great speed and good pace and can serve fantastic balls from the outside.

_ Aaron Oppeltz, 5-foot 11-inch defender, Roseburg High School (Roseburg, Ore.). Oppeltz also plays for the Eugene Metros and was a starter for high school. He plays with the Portland Timbers U-21 team.

Chapman: He is a strong, fast player who reads the game very well.

_ Seth O'Banion, 5-foot 9-inch midfielder, Service High School (Anchorage, Alaska). O'Banion was a starter and captain in high school. Chapman: Seth is blessed with good speed.

_ Patrick Wolverton, 6-foot 2-inch forward from Dimond High School (Anchorage). He was a starter in high school. Chapman: Patrick is a strong forward with great speed who also can play the outside mid-role very well.

_ Lucas Costa, 5-foot 10-inch midfielder from Dimond High School (Anchorage). Chapman: Costa is a sold defensive midfielder who is very aggressive.

_ Brent Ricigliano, 6-foot midfielder, South Kitsap (Port Orchard). Ricigliano plays for Westsound FC and is a starter for the undefeated South Kitsap High School. Chapman: He plays in the middle of the field and has great vision along with a strong mentality.

_ Bobby Catania, 5-foot 11-inch midfielder from Kingston High School (Kingston). Chapman: Catania runs the outside mid and has great stamina to get up and down the field along with a great touch.

_ Steve Prevost, 6-foot 1-inch defender from North Kitsap High School (Poulsbo). Prevost is a transfer player from a community college in Arizona where he played center defender. Chapman: Steve has good strength and determination.

_ Jaime Camarena, 5-foot 10-inch midfielder, Westside High School (Wenatchee). Chapman: Camarena has great touch, good speed and can run on the inside or outside midfield position.
