The boys and girls of summer play on.

Sequim Little League all-stars were playing at district tournaments in Port Orchard, Gig Harbor and on Bainbridge Island this week, vying for postseason wins and berths in the state tournament.

Sequim's 9- and 10-year-old softballers won their first game, a 15-4 thrashing of Gig Harbor American/National at Strawberry Park on Bainbridge. Sequim was scheduled to take on host Bainbridge Island July 6 (results were unavailable at press time). With a win, Sequim would advance to the semifinals against Jefferson County on July 8, while a loss would drop them into a consolation bracket game on July 9.

Sequim's 9- and 10-year-old boys were knocked out of the district tourney. After splitting their first two games, including a 10-9 thriller against Key Peninsula, the South Kitsap East squad bumped

Sequim from districts with an 11-3 decision in Gig Harbor Sunday.

Sequim's majors softball squad (11- and 12-year-olds) fell to host Bainbridge Island 6-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Sequim was scheduled to play North Kitsap American/National on July 6, needing the first of four consecutive wins for a district championship.

Sequim's boys majors team (11- and 12-year-olds) was scheduled to open the district tourney against the South Kitsap West in Port Orchard late Monday night. The South Kitsap West team beat South Kitsap East 9-1. With a win, Sequim's boys majors squad plays again on July 11 in the district quarterfinals, while a loss drops the team into a consolation game on July 8.
