The men's squad fell 2-0 to the University of Victoria on Aug. 24, the Pirates' preseason scrimmage opener.

Victoria opened the scoring off a corner kick in injury time, about 46 minutes into the first half.

Peninsula had three good looks but couldn't get off a shot, Coach Andrew Chapman said.

In the second half, Victoria doubled its lead off another corner kick at the 84th minute.

Peninsula had two solid shots on goal in the final 45 minutes.

"We don't like to lose, but considering this will be the best opponent we may face all year, I will take the score," Chapman said. "They tested our players and helped us find our weaknesses and seeing success against them shows where we are strong."
