Pirates return to winning ways

Winless in their past three games, Peninsula's Pirates weren't about to let this division game slip away.
Brent Ricigliano took a pass from Jeff Mullen for a score with just seven minutes remaining in the second half to break a tie, giving Peninsula a 2-1 win at Tacoma on Oct. 23.
The win keeps No. 1-ranked Peninsula (7-2-1 in conference play, 9-2-3 overall) in first place in the NWAACC West, one point ahead of Bellevue.
After a scoreless first half, Mullen found Miguel Gonzalez for a goal at the 70-minute mark and 1-0 lead, but Tacoma's Sean Foss tied the game 10 minutes later.
Ricigliano knocked home the game-winner three minutes after that.
The Pirates host Highline on Oct. 27 and Olympic on Oct. 30.
