Sequim running back/linebacker Isaac Yamamoto, the Olympic League football MVP, was named to the West squad team for the Earl Barden Classic, the Kitsap Sun reports.

Yamamoto rushed for 1,131 yards and 16 touchdowns in 11 games last season and amassed 1,390 yards and 19 scores from scrimmage.

As a linebacker, Yamamoto led the Wolves in tackles (104) and was second in sacks, fumbles caused and interceptions.

He joins Kingston offensive lineman Ben Hanson at the game, while fellow Olympic Leaguers Lou Hecker (running back, Kingston) and Tevin Williams (halfback, North Mason) are alternates.

The Earl Barden Classic, the small-school version of the annual East-West Game, is slated for June 25 in Yakima.
