Sequim High School junior Ryan O’Mera won two matches and tied another in the 2011 Walroth Cup at Sudden Valley Golf Course in Bellingham on April 9-10, helping his team of American players top Canada in all three events.

On the first day, O’Mera and partner Chris Babcock from Shorewood High School in Seattle tied their Canadian counterparts to give each team a half point. Playing in wind and rain Sunday morning, O’Mera and Babcock outscored their Canadian foes in Chapman format to win their round in just 12 holes, scoring a point for team USA.

Later that day in match play, O’Mera beat Aaron Ferrer of Canada by two strokes to earn another point for the USA squad.

The finals standings saw Team USA top Canada 17-13 in best ball action, 31-29 in Chapman play and 63-57 in match play.
