With some key victories in early July at the District IV tournament in Silverdale, Sequim's Babe Ruth 14-year-olds all-star squad is headed to the state tourney.
And they won't have far to travel.
After topping Port Angeles, Central Kitsap and, in the championship game on July 8, the North Kitsap all-stars 5-4 in extra innings, Sequim advances to the Babe Ruth state tourney, scheduled for July 19-22 in Port Angeles.
The team is managed by Chris Grubb with assistant coaches Jim Whitaker and Dean Rhodefer.
"These boys played some outstanding baseball and represented Sequim in an awesome way," Whitaker said.
